Maintenance Supervisor
Description
Our client, a multinational company in the packaging sector with more than 30,000 employees worldwide, is currently looking for a maintenance supervisor.
Reporting to the Maintenance Director, the Supervisor’s main mission will be to manage a team of nine technicians. He will coordinate day-to-day operations, ensuring the safety of interventions and carefully orchestrating the necessary maintenance and repairs. Its role also extends to the development and rigorous monitoring of a preventive maintenance program, thus guaranteeing optimal intervention on equipment and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Scrupulously ensure that OHS standards are respected by its staff;
- Methodically organize preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on a daily and weekly basis;
- Carry out the evaluation of personnel in collaboration with the Maintenance Director;
- Actively contribute to the development of skills within your team;
- Ensure that personnel are adequately trained, equipped and motivated to ensure that the maintenance program is carried out safely, efficiently and cost-effectively;
- Manage any issues related to employees, including their participation in disciplinary meetings if necessary;
- Implement key indicators (KPIs) to measure individual performance;
- Maintain a constructive dialogue with suppliers to resolve any difficulties arising in this partnership relationship;
- Conduct regular follow-up in the field to ensure a visible presence with the teams;
- Make yourself available during major machine interruptions to provide technical expertise;
- Collaborate closely with the production team to continuously improve the operational efficiency of the equipment;
Requirements
We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or relevant training. Significant experience (three to five years) in supervising a technical team in a unionized environment is required. In-depth knowledge of preventive maintenance planning is a must. Experience in the specific field of packaging or similar industries will be a significant asset. Strong communication and coaching skills are essential; fluency in French and English, both oral and written, is required.
